Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • Flour— 1 cup
  • Brown Sugar— 1/2 cup
  • White Sugar— 1/2 cup
  • 6oz of Chocolate
  • Milk Powder— 1 teaspoon
  • Butter— 1/2 cup (melted)
  • 2 Eggs, 1 Yolk
  • Salt— 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla Extract— 2 tablespoons

  • 2 Mixing Bowls

How To Make Coffee Cake Brownies

  • Preheat 350F.
  • First, prepare the streusel. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Now you can use a pastry cutter, your fingers, or a fork to mix in the butter until clumps start to form. Don’t overmix or the the streusel will turn into a paste. Refrigerate while the dough is being made.
  • Melt the butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl or on a stovetop.
  • In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, white sugar, brown sugar and chocolate-butter mixture.
  • Add-in the vanilla extract then fold in the flour, salt, and espresso powder until no white streaks of flour remain.
  • Evenly pour the batter into a well greased 8×8 brownie pan then evenly top with streusel.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean with only a few moist crumbs. Allow the coffee cake brownies to cool in the pan for up to 1 hour then slice and enjoy.
