Ingredients

Strawberry Cake Base

  • 15oz Strawberry Cake Mix
  • Melted Butter— 1 stick
  • 1 Egg
  • Vanilla Extract— 1 teaspoon

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8oz Cream Cheese
  • Melted Butter— 1 stick
  • Vanilla Extract— 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered Sugar— 2 cups
  • 2 Eggs

What You’ll Need

  • 2 Mixing Bowls
  • Hand Mixer
  • 8×8 Brownie Pan

How to Make Strawberry Gooey Butter Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350F (177C).
  • First the cream cheese layer. In a large mixing bowl use a hand mixer to mix softened (room temp) cream cheese and powdered sugar until well combined. Now mix in the eggs one at a time then fold in the vanilla extract by hand with a spatula. Set aside.
  • In a separate mixing bowl combine strawberry cake mix, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract by hand (dough will be thick).
  • Now scoop strawberry cake batter into a well greased 8×8 brownie pan and press down into an even layer. Top with cream cheese mixture then place in the oven to bake for 25-35 minutes.
  • Once the Strawberry Gooey Butter Cake is done baking place it in the fridge to set for around 30 minutes.
  • Once the cake has fully set, slice and enjoy!
