Blueberry Orange Donut Loaf Recipe (Better Than Bakery!)

One of my favorite things about this recipe is how simple it is to make while still feeling extra special. The combination of sweet blueberries and fragrant orange creates a timeless flavor pairing that never disappoints, and the moist, cake-like texture keeps everyone coming back for another slice. Ingredients

  • Flour— 2-1/2 cups
  • Cornstarch— 2 teaspoons
  • Sour Cream— 1/2 cup
  • Vegetable Oil— 1/2 cup
  • Orange Juice— 1/2 cup
  • Orange Zest— 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon Extract— 1/8 teaspoon
  • Vanilla Extract— 1/2 teaspooon
  • Blueberries— 1 cup (fresh or frozen)
  • Salt— 1 teaspoon
  • White Sugar— 1 cup
  • Baking Powder— 1 teaspoon

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • White Sugar— 1/4 cup
  • Cinnamon— 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Ginger— 1/2 teaspoon (optional)

  • 9×5 Loaf Pan
  • Large Mixing Bowl

How to Make Blueberry Orange Donut Loaf

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • First, prepare the cinnamon sugar topping. In a small bowl or ramekin, combine white sugar, cinnamon and ginger then set aside.
  • Now for the loaf batter. In a small bowl, use your fingers to rub orange zest and white sugar together until fully combined.
  • Combine sugar/orange zest mixture, sour cream, vegetable oil, white sugar, orange juice, lemon extract, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl then fold in flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking powder with a spatula.
  • Continue to fold in the ingredients until only a few streaks of flour remain then add in the blueberries and continue to fold in the ingredients until no white more white streaks of flour remian.
  • Now pour the batter into a well greased 9×5 loaf pan then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the top making sure to cover sides and edges.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Once the blueberry orange donut loaf is out of the oven allow it to set in the pan for 20 minutes then flip it out onto a cooling rack to completely cool.
  • Slice and enjoy!
